As an entomologist, Deane has been fascinated by insects since she was young. Discovering the potential of clay in a pottery class, she began exploring clay for making insect sculptures. She uses inspiration from the insect world to design sculptures based on real insects, but which are much embellished from her imagination.
These insects are designed to be outside ornaments and can also be displayed indoors.
