Harlequin’s Gardens Seasonal Generalist
Start date: April 2026
General Responsibilities: Under the direction of department leads, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks around the nursery. This includes:
- Intaking plant orders, including labeling and moving plants and ensuring they are out for sale in a timely fashion, under the direction of the Perennials Lead and Nursery Operations Lead.
- General customer service duties, including operating the register, answering phones, and assisting the Retail Store Specialist with any tasks related to store upkeep.
- Other duties as directed by leadership, including propagation, office tasks, etc.
Nursery experience and strong knowledge of sustainable gardening in the Intermountain West preferred. Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn common office programs. Ability to lead with a ‘can-do’ attitude, detail-oriented, and a desire to engage with the public. Ability to lift and move product (ie, soil amendments, plants) weighing up to 40 pounds (with reasonable accommodation) and to occasionally pull wheeled trolleys of up to 100 pounds. Ability to work in all types of weather conditions (95 degree heat in the summer, high winds, and cold weather).
Reports to: Nursery Operations Lead. Please note that Harlequin’s has a flat hierarchy and all Department Leads share organizational leadership.
Compensation: Salary Range: 18.50 – 20.00/hr. Harlequin’s offers profit-sharing when possible, paid days off per year + state mandated sick time on an accrual basis, 40% off plants and 30% off other merchandise, ongoing educational opportunities, and more.
Hours/Days of work: This is an on-site, 9a-5p, 5-days a week (Wed-Sun), April-September position, with 2-3 days per week in October possible, but not guaranteed. Potential to fluctuate on weekends – at least one weekend day is required.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Unloading plants and other products from delivery trucks, and moving trays from backstock locations onto the floor under the direction of the Perennials Lead and other leads.
- Printing plant labels, plant descriptions, and other signage, and ensuring they get placed in the plants and on the floor (under the direction of the leads and Store Specialist)
- Customer service duties, including operation of the register, answering phones, etc.
- Supporting the production team (occasionally, and as needed) with plant propagation.
- Other duties as assigned by Harlequin’s leadership.

Marketing Specialist
Start Date: February 2026
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with ownership to craft and ensure that our weekly newsletter is out in a timely fashion
- Collaborate with Harlequin’s leadership team to make relevant posts on social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Upkeep of WordPress website, keeping it up to date and user-friendly
- Execute effective marketing strategies in collaboration with company leadership
We’re seeking someone with a desire for community engagement and a love for our mission at Harlequin’s of supporting local ecology and gardeners of all ages and backgrounds. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience applying marketing strategies via a variety of different methods, and tailoring content to different platforms.
Reports to: Nursery Operations Lead (and working closely with the co-owner). Please note that Harlequin’s has a flat hierarchy and all Department Leads share organizational leadership.

Hours/Days of work: 2-3 days per week, Tuesdays a must. The job will start on site, with the possibility to flex to some remote work, based upon the needs of the business.
