Perennials

Harlequin’s Gardens offers more than 1200 different perennial varieties. Most of these were chosen for their known durability under Colorado conditions. We do not push plants just because they are new and different and come with fancy marketing packages. We do carry some experimental varieties that are promising, but mostly we have pre-selected plants that we know are sustainable in Colorado, thriving with less water and without pesticides. We buy from growers who raise strong plants, and many of our suppliers are small Colorado growers. In addition, each year we grow about 8,000 plants from seed, of unusual, hard-to-find varieties. Our seed comes from specialty companies, seed exchanges, our own gardens and from permitted native collections. Additionally, Gary and his team in our Wholesale Operation propagate over 500 different species of plants which we also have available for our retail customers. The plants we raise are grown organically and all of our plants are managed organically once we receive them.
