Ryan Dakota Farris is a Ned native, and a prodigious and energetic young musician and composer who plays regularly with the Boulder Irish Session. You may have enjoyed hearing him play cello for some of our past Holiday Open House weekends, but cello isn’t his only instrument.
On his just-released CD ‘Healing: a quarantine solo album’, Ryan presents his musical response to the Coronavirus pandemic: a celebration of traditional and contemporary tunes from Ireland and Scotland, with a Colorado flare. Ryan plays all of the 14 different instruments on this album, recorded one at a time in his bedroom and mixed together using Logic Pro X. Ryan performs on everything from 7-String Bass Viola da Gamba to washboard. You will think you’re listening to an ensemble, as he layers and blends the sounds!
