You’ve heard about them, but who are they and what do they do? You’ll get to know our beneficial soil microbes and build a soil food web that makes nutrients available to plants, retains water and other nutrients, suppresses disease, builds soil structure—all resulting in healthier and more productive plants.
Using a microscope, Christine identifies and counts the beneficial (and detrimental) micro-organisms in samples of soil, compost and compost extracts and teas, and then provides that data and recommended ranges for the types of plants a farmer or gardener wants to grow. She is continuing her studies in the program to become a field consultant, so she is developing her skills in making Bio-Complete Compost (trademarked), extracts ad teas. She also has a certification in Permaculture Design and works at Harlequin’s Gardens wholesale part-time.
