We know our customers have beautiful gardens (some have even shared them in our Virtual Garden Tour,) but when the snow is flying, or after a long summer day, it’s nice to retreat to a beautiful home. From hand-printed, dyed or stitched table linens to hand made pottery we’ve found some outstanding gift ideas: the perfect beeswax candle to light up the winter’s darkness, a handcrafted mug for the hot cocoa, an ornament for the tree, or some nature-inspired wall art to bring beauty inside.

Peter Buwalda Fine Art – NEW!
Last chance for prints! Peter has ‘arrived’ in the art world, and after this season, will be offering only his original paintings. Peter is a Boulder artist with a unique eye for the beauty of the natural world – especially our ancient, venerable trees and our delicate native wildflowers. While highly accurate, his plant portraits go beyond simple realism to express the tenacity and endurance of our native plants. His matted prints are very reasonably priced. We also offer Peter’s cards individually and in sets.

KITCHEN & TABLE
Candles
Amber Lights Candles
Beeswax candles have the natural sweet scent of honey and the warm color of honey. They burn slowly, cleanly and without dripping. And Amber Lights candles are handmade in a tiny Longmont studio where Clark Fishback has amassed an incredible collection of candle molds. Choose from Morel mushroom, lotus, dragon, St. Nick, Buddha, beehive, Art Deco modern, angel, rose, pillar, pinecone, fir tree, and about 20 other designs! In addition, we have their elegant hand-dipped beeswax taper candles, Hanukah candles, shabbat candles and birthday candles, Everybody loves them!
Wax Crescent Candles
Looking for a seasonal scented candle that will last through many cozy evenings or gatherings? Wax Crescent candle scents are beautifully blended from essential oils, completely non-toxic, poured into a glass jar, and sure to please. Hand-made in Longmont.
Glass & Pottery
Atelier Foucalt Glassware
To be honest, we don’t have a display area in our shop that does justice to this unique glassware! One of only a handful of artisans using this technique, in her Elizabeth CO studio, Marie Foucault (pictured, right) hand paints reclaimed glass pieces with detailed, original designs in silver oxide, then fires them in a kiln to fuse the ‘paint’ to the glass. The results are simultaneously earthy and elegant. They would fit perfectly in many home settings – rustic, modern, traditional or (personal favorite) eclectic. These lovely tableware pieces and candleholders are both very special and affordable.
Deborah Hager/Clay by Nature
Coffee/tea mugs are one of the top-selling items in our holiday gift market because they are useful to almost everyone. We choose our pottery very carefully, checking the balance and weight of the mugs, the shape and comfort of the handles, and selecting pieces that present a perfect marriage of form and function. Deborah Hager’s work passes with flying colors (pun intended), with both her Dragonfly series and Sunset Series, crated with high-fire, durable clay, and her own original glazes.
Wymzy Ceramics/Melissa Harvey – NEW!
Melissa Harvey has been a potter for forty years in the Denver area, working from her home studio. Her white stoneware pieces are wheel-thrown and altered, decorated with her colorful patterns in underglazes, then covered with a clear glaze. Look for surprises on the back or inside surfaces of some of her mugs and bowls! She loves to make items you can use, that will add pleasure to your everyday experiences at home. Melissa has brought us mugs, bud vases, small bowls and trays, oil cruets, and a couple of berry bowls. They are selling fast!
Nicole Copel/Pinyon Hill Pottery
In her studio in La Veta, CO, Nicole crafts her wheel-thrown porcelain pottery decorated with just the right sprinkling of colored dots. We offer her gracefully shaped, functional, durable pitchers, creamers, mixing bowls, mugs, oil cruets, and liquid soap or hand-cream dispensers. The smooth finish of Nicole’s pieces are a joy to hold and to see.
Traditional Majolica/Raphaele Malferrari
The Malferrari’s work has been famous since the earliest days of the Boulder Arts & Crafts Co-op. Majolica is a process requiring multiple firings and great skill with the paintbrush. Lele’s charming, exquisitely detailed, tradition-based Italian majolica pottery mugs and candle holders depict local animals, birds and insects, and tradition-inspired abstract designs. They will be treasured by anyone lucky enough to receive them!
